Jubilee Events Caribbean might be a new name in Barbados, but the tour de force that is Candice Coppola, the owner and creative force behind Jubilee Events (the company she established in 2007 in the US), has crafted a reputation for exquisitely executed, artful and sophisticated weddings and events in New York and as far afield as Spain. Hailed as one of the Top 50 Event Planners & Designers in the US by Bridal Guide Magazine, Fox News & The Daily Meal, Candice’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Glamour Magazine, BRIDES, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings and ELLE Magazine to name a few; she also recently co-authored a beautiful coffee table tome, The White Dress: in Color — Inspirations for the Modern Bride.
Having fallen in love with Barbados on her first visit – and subsequently falling in love with her Bajan fiancée – Candice made the big step to relocate to Barbados and bring her expertise to luxury weddings and events here, infusing big-city style with an island vibe. Featured in the inaugural issue of this very magazine back in 2012,
Candice is an avid collaborator and happy to share her considerable knowledge and experience to the local wedding industry. Collaborating with local event company Mix Nutz’ for their New Year’s Eve party, Shangri-La, Candice transformed the tourist attraction of Harrison’s Cave into an exciting and magical party mecca using lighting as a design element along with aerial performers from the UK pouring vodka while hanging from silks, VIP cabanas, pyrotechnics and canons filled with golf confetti to create ‘moments’ throughout the event.
“The ultimate goal is to have fun and for guests to have a really great time.”
Candice has two main objectives for any wedding or event: to give clients an unforgettable experience during the planning process and to create beautiful, innovative events that her clients and their guests will never forget.
“I take a different approach…..one that reflects the clients inspiration as well as my influence and personal style to elevate an event to the next level,” she explains, “it’s important to understand the event and how it will be experienced through the eyes of the guest.”
Known for her personalized service and attention to detail, Candice also stresses that it is important that clients “enjoy the process, and have a great time working with us. We help to alleviate the stress by making the planning process fun and understanding the needs and concerns of a client who resides overseas. We offer design and planning services that are customized to each client’s requirements.”
