Sally and Jason knew exactly what they wanted from their nuptials….excitement!
Jason’s proposal to Sally alone was the talk of the town, as he had written in the sky above the Sydney Opera House in Australia “Will you marry me?” (she said yes!), which was then featured in 8 newspapers across Australia and the UK as well as being interviewed by 2 magazines!
Having decided on a destination wedding in Barbados, the team at Weddings by Malissa were contacted as their on-island wedding planner – the WBM team was very excited about this wedding and worked closely with the bride and groom for seven months to fine-tune the plans. Everything was to be a surprise for their guests, and the team knew exactly what was needed.
The Bride and her sister Katie arrived at the ceremony by Sandy Lane Hotel’s Phantom Rolls Royce, the groom zipping in via speedboat to the applause of their guests! The couple chose The Cliff Restaurant for its dazzling sunset, twilight allure, the decadent ambiance, and of course, their amazing food.
Steel pan music and the soft sound of the waves rolling on the shore provided a background symphony as they were surrounded by close friends and family as they exchanged vows under a fully draped Huppa.
White, white, white with subtle hints of pink was Sally’s vision for her reception, and it was anything but ‘traditional’. Sally’s ‘something blue’ was created by the mixology team at The Cliff, and the ‘Blue Smurf’ mojito was a hit! If that didn’t loosen up the guests, local entertainers including calypso dancers and our very own “Mother Sally’ helped to loosen up their hips, pumping up the Caribbean soca and inviting guests to try out the moves.
At dinner to the delight of the guests, they were joined by a set of elegant rays, gracefully gliding through the lit-up shore below. A delicious three-course meal under the stars, more ‘blue smurfs’ and a spectacular fireworks display with every colour imaginable bursting above their heads lighting up the night sky rounded off the evening….or so the guests thought……! Drama and excitement were the theme and Sally and Jason didn’t want the night to end! They headed into Bridgetown on the Reggae Bus to local nightclub Harbour Lights for live entertainment and more dancing under the stars!
The perfect start to their life together, Sally and Jason were overjoyed with the experience, and we were thrilled to have been a part of pulling it all together. We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness together!
